Seminars 2005

Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Aviation

Aviation is the fastest growing source of greenhouse gas transport emissions in the European Union. The issue of how to reduce emissions from aviation is, therefore, of considerable urgency. Germany and the United Kingdom, in particular, have contributed considerably to the discussion of this topic on the international agenda, even though they prefer different economic instruments: kerosene taxes and ticket duties in Germany, emissions trading in the UK.

Organised by Green Budget Germany (www.foes.de) and eftec, with sponsorship from the Anglo-German Foundation (www.agf.org.uk), the one day conference concerning “Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Aviation” took place on Monday 21st November at the Anglo-German Foundation, Belgrave Square, London.
