Chelsea Thomson joined eftec as a researcher in late 2009. Her work has included a project pertaining to inshore fisheries for Defra and a project which applies an ecosystems services framework to estimate the economic value of the Forestry Commission estate. She has also contributed to policy guidance on both flood mitigation and habitats banking.
Chelsea holds an MSc in Environmental Economics with Distinction from the University of East Anglia. Her thesis focused on the use of choice experiments to value landscape impacts associated with reinforcing the UK National Grid.
She also holds a BA in International Relations and Economics from Mount Allison University in Canada and spent a year studying international development and anthropology in Thailand and Laos before beginning a career in environmental economics.
