Paul Chung

Paul joined eftec in August 2022 as a Researcher. He primarily works on natural capital projects, assisting with evidence reviews, data preparation, and economic analysis.


Paul's recent work has focused on developing natural capital accounts for farms, analysing voluntary carbon markets and offset typologies, scoping the development of regional natural capital markets for private investment, compiling evidence and policy recommendations to promote green finance, and valuing the benefits of ecosystem services.


Paul holds a BA in Economics and Interdisciplinary Chinese Studies from Swarthmore College and an MSc in Development Economics (with Distinction) from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. His dissertation examined the use of blockchain and Agriculture 4.0 technologies in global value chains in relation to smallholder oil palm plantation farmers in the Global South.
