Thea Marcelia Sletten is a senior consultant with broad expertise in economic techniques and an in-depth knowledge of chemical risk management. Before joining eftec, she worked at the Norwegian Environment Agency and as a senior consultant at Risk & Policy Analysts (RPA).
Bilan Elmi joined the core team in June 2018 as eftec’s Office Manager. Her responsibilities include the day-to-day management of the office, event coordination, and PA to the Directors. Bilan holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Law from Queen Mary University and a BA in Peace and Global Studies from Earlham College, USA.
Sophie Neupauer, a Researcher at eftec, joined the core team in September 2018 following the completion of her studies. Her postgraduate dissertation involved investigating the motivations, opportunities, and challenges of applying the Natural Capital Protocol to land-based businesses in Scotland.
At eftec, Sophie has been involved in assisting senior members of staff with data analysis and preparing presentations for clients.
Patricia Yague Garcia, a Researcher at eftec, joined the core team in September 2018 after working as an Analyst at the Grantham Research Institute. Prior to pursuing a career in economics, Patricia worked in the fashion industry where she witnessed the negative impact that unregulated industrial expansion could inflict in the environment and communities living nearby. As a result, Patricia is interested in finding global solutions to a more responsible use of natural resources without jeopardising economic welfare.
Aideen Moylan, a Researcher at eftec, joined the core team in September 2018 after completing a successful six-week internship. Her dissertation she used contingent valuation and travel cost methods to estimate the economic value of a stretch of the country-wide England Coast Path Scheme. She was awarded the Social Sciences Prize by the School of Environmental Sciences, for the highest mark achieved in a social sciences dissertation.
Natalya Kharadi, a researcher at eftec, joined the core team in December 2017 following the completion of her studies. Her dissertation titled ‘Height, Mortality and Air Pollution: Evidence from 20th Century Europe’ investigated the relationship between human health and sulphur dioxide emissions over time. Her work at eftec has focused on assisting senior staff with data collation and analysis for project reports and presentations to key stakeholders.
Jake Kuyer is a senior consultant with professional and academic experience in the broad fields of economics, the environment and social value. He is capable with technical approaches including both qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis, as well as project management, stakeholder engagement, and delivering training. Jake is able to conduct work both remotely and from client sites as part of an interdisciplinary team to successfully deliver challenging projects.
European Business Representative
Dr Rob Tinch, our European Business Representative, first joined eftec in 1995 and re-joined the core team in April 2008. Rob has over 20 years’ experience in environmental and ecological economics and works primarily on European research projects.
Ian Dickie, a Director of eftec, joined the core team in November 2007. He is also a member of the Natural Capital Coalition Advisory Panel, a Director of the Aldersgate Group, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant’s in England and Wales (ICAEW) Sustainability Committee.
Allan Provins, a Director of eftec, joined the core team in September 2002. He is an economist who works with companies, government and NGOs to help them make better evidenced plans and decisions. The main theme in all of this is choosing the right tool for the job (along with a healthy dose of pragmatism). Currently he is working with a number of UK water companies, supporting their customer engagement and strategic investment planning for the forthcoming regulatory price control process.
