Ece Ozdemiroglu is the Founding Director of eftec. She is a member of the Climate Change Committee Adaptation Sub Committee and the Natural Capital Initiative.
She specialises in interpreting economic value evidence for natural capital, ecosystem services, cultural heritage, charitable sector and value of information. She is the convenor of the British Standards Institute’s Assessing and Valuing Natural Capital Committee (SES/1/1/2) currently commenting on ISO14007 on using economic value evidence in decision making, ISO14008 on monetary valuation and a new standard on natural capital accounting. Her clients include most UK government departments, the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, the governments of many countries, local authorities and forward thinking businesses.
She is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Environmental Economics and Policy and has co-edited or co-authored 11 books. Her latest book (with Josh Lipton, David Chapman, and Jennifer Peers (eds)) came out in March 2018 by Springer and is on the use of resource equivalency (including economic valuation) methods for assessing environmental damage and liability and selecting the appropriate compensation measures.
Ece holds an MSc in Environmental and Resource Economics from University College London and a BA in Economics from Istanbul University. She works in English and Turkish.
