Thea Marcelia Sletten is a senior consultant with broad expertise in economic techniques and an in-depth knowledge of chemical risk management. Before joining eftec, she worked at the Norwegian Environment Agency and as a senior consultant at Risk & Policy Analysts (RPA). During her time in RPA she was managing and working on several projects, including an Annex XV restriction proposal for PFHxS and related substances, a large-scale study on further development of European chemicals regulation, as well as several Applications for Authorisations and impact assessments for industry clients. At the Norwegian Environment Agency, she worked on a wide range of projects, including the restriction proposals for PFOA and decaBDE, socio-economic analysis of human exposure to endocrine disruptors, development of guidance documentation, to mention a few. Being one of the leading economists in the field of chemical risk management, she was appointed by the Norwegian Ministry of Environment to the Committee for Socio-economic Analysis (SEAC), where she served for over four years. During her time in the SEAC, she wrote a number of opinions, both for Restriction proposals and for Applications for Authorisations, and contributed to the development of assessment frameworks and training of SEAC members.
Thea holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Economics, a Bachelor in Mathematics and Economics, and a Bachelor in Astrophysics.
