Birds flying over seascape at sunset

For economists at the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, March 2015: Two senior members of our team provided a one –day training for 11 economists at Defra and other departments on the concepts and terminology of economic values, overview of valuation methods, value transfer and using the value evidence in policy and investment appraisal. A handbook containing the slide pack, a glossary, further reading and value transfer guidance, was also provided. The day ended with a group exercise on value transfer in which participants had to select define the policy good and change and select the most appropriate value evidence from a few given to them.
