Crystal Chan

Crystal joined eftec as a Researcher in March 2024. She primarily works on natural capital assessment, valuation and accounting contributing to evidence reviews, data analysis, toolkit development for natural capital accounting and appraisal, as well as economic assessment and valuation.


Crystal’s natural capital accounting experience covers terrestrial and marine environments from single owner locations to regional accounts, and in different sectors including forestry, land, and marine areas. She is also skilled in supporting the valuation of ecosystem services to inform decision-making and policy, including statistical analysis and cost–benefit assessments for land and marine spatial management.


Crystal holds a Bachelor in Economics and Finance from the University of Hong Kong, and a MSc in Economics, Policy of Energy and the Environment from the University College London (with Distinction). She also holds a Sustainable Investing Certificate under the CFA Institute.
