Title: Integrated Reporting and Natural Capital Accounting
Client: Joint Nature Conservation Committee
Year: 2016
Service area(s): Policy
About the project
The project aimed to provide evidence feeding into the ongoing development of Integrated Reporting (IR). It focused on finding out where IR can improve the accounting for, and management of, natural capital. In addition, it highlighted the natural capital information needs for emergent IR practices to enable the JNCC to improve their data provision. This work included a desk-based evidence review and a series of interviews with selected experts aiming at determining the types of people and organisations involved in IR, the most widely used approaches, and how IR accounts for natural capital. A webinar was held to test the initial findings (as determined through the literature and interviews) with the relevant stakeholders.
